This article explains how to update, manage, and optimize a pop-up signup form created in Chatavise. You’ll learn how to review performance, adjust fields, stay SMS-compliant, customize appearance, and control what happens after a visitor submits the form.

Overview: Pop-Up Forms in Chatavise

Chatavise currently offers multiple form types, including:

  • Standalone web forms

  • Embedded web chat forms

  • Pop-up signup forms

This article focuses specifically on pop-up forms, which appear automatically on your website after a visitor arrives.

Form Overview & Performance Metrics

The Overview tab gives you visibility into how your pop-up form is performing after it’s installed on your website.

Here you can see:

  • Total views (impressions)

  • Submission count

  • New subscribers generated

  • Conversion trends over time

  • Performance by page location

You can also filter results by date to analyze performance over specific time ranges.

Managing Form Fields

The Fields tab allows you to control what information visitors submit.

Common field options include:

  • First name and last name

  • Phone number (recommended)

  • Email address (optional or required)

  • Inquiry or message box

  • Address, city, state, and ZIP code

Marketing SMS Consent (Important)

If you plan to send promotional or marketing SMS messages, you must include the Marketing SMS Opt-In field.

This field:

  • Adds an unchecked consent checkbox

  • Displays SMS disclosure language

  • Includes links to your privacy policy

  • Ensures FCC and TCPA compliance

Without this field:

  • The contact is not considered an SMS subscriber

  • You may only send non-promotional follow-ups related to their request

Including state information is also recommended, as SMS compliance laws can vary by region.

Styling & Previewing the Pop-Up

The Style & Preview tab lets you customize how the pop-up appears to website visitors.

You can configure:

  • Header and subheader text

  • Confirmation message after submission

  • Button color

  • Time delay before the pop-up appears (in seconds)

  • Regeneration timing after the pop-up is closed

Regenerate After Closing

This setting controls how soon the pop-up reappears after a visitor closes it.

  • 0 seconds = shows again immediately

  • Higher values delay reappearance (e.g., minutes or hours)

Location Selection (Optional)

If your account has multiple locations, the Locations tab allows you to:

  • Add a location dropdown to the pop-up

  • Let visitors choose the business location they’re contacting

If you only have one location, this step is optional.

Automatically Tagging Contacts

The Tags tab allows you to automatically apply tags when someone submits the form.

Examples:

  • “New Website Lead”

  • “Pop-Up Form Submission”

  • “Marketing Opt-In”

Tags help with:

  • Segmentation

  • Campaign targeting

  • Reporting and automation

You can create new tags directly from this screen.

Workflows: What Happens After Submission

Every signup form automatically generates a workflow in Chatavise.

In the Workflows tab, you can:

  • See which workflows are attached

  • Open the workflow to edit it

  • Control follow-up messages, assignments, and delays

By default:

  • The workflow is created but inactive

  • You must review, customize, and enable it before it runs

Workflows allow you to:

  • Send instant confirmation texts

  • Assign the lead to a team member

  • Schedule follow-up messages automatically

Maintaining and Updating Your Pop-Up Form

Once your form is live, you can return at any time to:

  • Update fields or consent settings

  • Adjust display timing

  • Change messaging

  • Add or remove tags

  • Modify connected workflows

This makes it easy to continuously improve conversion rates and compliance as your needs change.
