Once you’ve created questions for use in surveys, forms, or automations, you may want to update or enhance them over time. Chatavise makes it easy to edit existing questions directly from the Questions page.

Accessing the Edit Option

  1. Navigate to the Questions Page

    • From your dashboard, go to Setup → Questions.

  2. Locate the Question You Want to Edit

    • Find the question in the list. In this example, we’re editing: “How many pets do you have?”

  3. Click the Edit Button

    • Use the Edit icon on the right-hand side of the question row.

What You Can Edit

Question Text

You can modify the question wording. For example:

  • Original: How many pets do you have

  • Updated: How many pets do you currently own?

Just make your change and click Update — it saves instantly.

Response Choices

Each response can be customized with powerful options:

  • Point Values
Adjust the score assigned to each answer (e.g., “1–3 pets” = 3 points).

  • Inactive Choices
Hide a choice without deleting it. Ideal for responses you no longer want to offer.

  • Negative Responses
Flag a response as negative to receive notifications and mark the survey as actionable.

  • Notifications
Choose to receive alerts when a particular choice is selected.

  • Auto-Tags
Automatically apply a tag to a contact based on their response. For example:

    • Response: None

    • Tag: Needs Pets

This is useful for future segmentation in workflows or campaigns.

  • Add New Choices
Add new options as needed. Example: 100+ Pets with the tag Pet Lover Times 100.

Viewing Results Over Time

Each question can be reused across multiple surveys. Chatavise tracks how contacts respond over time, so you’ll get an aggregated view of results—even if the question appears in different forms or workflows.
