If your business operates multiple locations or needs to manage multiple phone numbers, Chatavise makes it easy to add, organize, and assign phone lines across your account. In this guide, we'll walk you through everything from understanding your current phone lines to purchasing new ones and assigning them to specific locations.




Navigating to the Phone Lines Page

To access your phone line settings:

  1. Log in to your Chatavise account.

  2. From the main navigation, go to SetupPhone Lines.

You’ll land on a page listing all of the phone numbers currently in your account.


Understanding the Phone Lines Table

Here’s what you’ll see in the phone lines overview:

  • Phone Number – Each phone line tied to your account.

  • Use Case (A2P 10DLC) – The messaging use case and brand under which the phone number is registered. For example, “Big Trucks Inc” under a “Communication Channel” use case.

  • Location – The business location assigned to each phone line. Messages sent or received from a number will be attributed to this location.

? Note: If you only have one business location in your account, all numbers default to that location. If you operate multiple branches or teams, this is where you can assign phone lines appropriately.


Adding a New Phone Line

Before adding a new number, you’ll need to check if your account allows for more lines.

Step 1: Check Your Phone Line Limit

  1. Navigate to Billing in your account.

  2. You'll see how many phone lines your current plan allows (e.g., 5 lines total, 3 in use).

If you've reached the limit, click Change to upgrade your plan and purchase additional lines.

? Each phone line currently costs $20/month (subject to change).


Step 2: Add a New Phone Line

Once you have available phone line capacity:

  1. Go back to Setup → Phone Lines.

  2. Click Add Phone Line.

  3. Search by Area Code – Input the 3-digit area code you'd like (e.g., 404 or 770).

  4. Choose your desired phone number from the list.

  5. Assign it to a Brand and Use Case (e.g., “Big Trucks Inc”).

  6. Click Add Phone Number.

Your new number is now part of your account and ready to be used.


Assigning a Phone Line to a Location

The final step is connecting the number to a specific business location:

  1. Click the Assign Location button next to the new phone number.

  2. Choose the appropriate location (e.g., “Boyle Roth & Koss”).

  3. Confirm the assignment.

Once assigned, any texts sent to or from that number will automatically be associated with that location and its contacts.


Using Multiple Phone Numbers Within a Location

If a location has more than one number:

  • When texting a contact, you'll have the option to choose which number to send from.

  • Conversations from multiple phone numbers will still appear in a single, unified chat thread, so your team can easily keep track of everything.

  • The interface will clearly show which number a message was sent from.

This is especially useful if different team members need to use separate numbers while maintaining visibility.
