You have two ways you can upload contacts manually in Chatavise; either one at a time, or in bulk with a CSV file. To get started uploading contacts, head to the Contacts page. You can do this by clicking on the CRM dropdown at the top left of the page and selecting Contacts.

To add a new contact, click on the button beside the Channels dropdown menu. Hovering over this button will show the "Add contacts" pop up.


How to Upload Multiple Contacts at Once


If you'd like to upload multiple contacts at a time, you can click on the upload button in the center of the CSV drop box, or you can drag and drop the relevant CSV into the drop box.

Once the CSV file has been uploaded, click on the Next button below the drop box.

From here you can map the fields of the CSV file. Click on the dropdown menus and match the CSV fields with the Chatavise fields.

Once you've mapped the fields, click on the "Check it over" button.

Here you can validate the contact information submitted. Scroll through your freshly uploaded contacts and double-check that your information is displaying correctly.

If there's something wrong with your uploaded contacts, click the "Go back" button to head back to the previous page.

If you need to upload a new CSV file, you can head to the Import CSV page and click on the upload button again.

Once you've confirmed that all of the information is mapped correctly, click the "Looks good" button to proceed with your upload.

Next, you'll be able to assign tags to the contacts from this list. Tags will be assigned to all contacts contained in this list; you won't be able to select individual tags for your contacts from this page.

Click on the dropdown menu to select the tag(s) you'd like to assign to these contacts. If you'd like to add a new tag, click on the plus + button beside the tag dropdown menu.

Name your new tag and hit the "Save" button to continue.

Your new tag will now show up in the tag dropdown menu.

Once the tags you'd like to use have been selected, hit the "Next" button.

Chatavise will confirm with you one more time that you'd like to upload these contacts. If there's anything you'd like to change about what you've submitted, hit the "Go back" button. Otherwise, to proceed, click the "Upload" button.

That's all you need to do to upload multiple contacts at once!


How to Upload One Contact at a Time


If you'd like to upload a single contact, head back to the "Add contact" pop up page. This time, select the "One contact" page tab.

From this page, you can add in the contact's information manually. You will need to add at least the customer's name and phone number. Add as much information as you'd like to the fields. Once all the information you have has been double-checked, click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

Your new contact will now show up in your Contacts list.
