If you plan on sending promotional texting to any of your customers or clients, it's important to get your opt-in configuration set up before pumping out tons of messages. To set up your opt-in specifics, head to the Opt-in page from the Marketing dropdown menu.

From here, click the Add Configuration button at the top right of the page. 


First, decide what you'd like your opt-in invite message to say. This will be viewed by customers that have left positive feedback and are prompted to leave a review.

Next, copy the link of your privacy policy from your website and paste it into the Privacy Policy URL textbox. This will ensure newly-opted-in contacts will have easy access to the policy.

Next will be making an estimate of how many promotional messages your opted-in contacts will be receiving a month. It's important to be realistic in expectations with how many messages you will send, as you want to try to avoid going over the estimated monthly messages. Going significantly over your estimated monthly messaging amount may result in penalty.

Next step is to decide what you'd like the message to say before new contacts receive opt-in instructions. The "Up to 5 messages/month" portion of this message is set, but you can customize the lead up to this. Writing something like a quick "Thank you" is recommended for this.


Now it's time to decide what you'd like your welcome message to say. This will be the text message that contacts receive after they've successfully opted in for promotional messaging.

You will have the option to set up two-step consent when it comes to opt-in configuration. The two steps to this consent would be 1. having the new contact text your Chatavise line (this automatically counts as consent to receiving text messages) and 2. filling out the opt-in form to confirm that they would like to receive messages.

Two-step consent is not a requirement to send promotional messaging, but it is highly recommended not only by the Chatavise team but by the FCC as well.


Lastly, select which location or locations you'd like to connect to these opt-in configurations. You can connect multiple locations to one opt-in configuration, but locations may only be tied to one singular opt-in configuration.


When you've finalized this information, press the Save button.

You can edit your opt-in configuration at any time by clicking on the pencil edit icon.

Click on the Save button to save any changes. Click on the X button to cancel the edit.
