Keywords are a great way to pinpoint a client or customer's needs and respond with exactly what they're looking for. Keywords allow you to connect message templates and workflows to specific words chosen, like "PODCAST" or "EVENT". Clients can then text in these specific keywords and receive more information on the subject, like a link to your new podcast, or to hear more information about your upcoming event!
To create your first keyword, head to the Keywords page from the Marketing dropdown menu at the top of the page.
If you have keywords already created within your account, they'll be listed here from the main Keywords page. Click on the Add Keyword button.
Decide what word you'd like your keyword to be. This will be what customers/clients text in to receive more information. Hit save to confirm your keyword name.
You'll be taken to this keywords main page. From here, you'll be able to keep track of how many clients have been opted-in by texting in this particular keyword.
You can also attach tags to individual keywords. Anyone who texts in this keyword will be thrown in to that tag category, which can then be filtered and searched on multiple pages across the platform.
If you can't find a tag relevant in the list and would like to use one, click on the plus + button beside the Tags dropdown to create a new tag. Type what you'd like the tag name to be and click save.
If you'd like to attach a keyword to a workflow, click on the Workflows dropdown and select the most relevant one to connect. Clients that text this keyword will receive the messages in this workflow.
If you don't have a premade workflow ready to go for this keyword, click on the plus + button beside the Workflows dropdown. A new workflow window will pop up.
Give your new workflow a name a click Save. An empty workflow will now be saved and found on the main Workflows page. If you need help setting up this workflow, check out our Ultimate Guide to Workflows.
If you'd ever like to change and update your keyword, you can do so from this page. Once you've made the changes to the keyword, hit the Save Changes button below the dropdown menus.
You can add a scanplate to a keyword from this page. Click on the Add scanplate button in the middle to the right of the page.
You'll be prompted to give the scanplate a name and a vanity URL. The vanity URL is optional and not required; it will simply give you a customized URL instead of an auto-generated one. This vanity URL will be connected to a scan-to-text page that you can include in workflows and campaigns, if you'd prefer to send a link through text to get the chain of events started.
Type in the name you'd like to give this scanplate (and vanity URL if relevant to you). Click the save button to finalize.
You can now download a QR code for this scanplate as well as keep track of total opens.
If you'd like to download the QR code for this scanplate, click on the Download QR button to the right of the page beside the scanplate.
You have four options when it comes to QR code size: small, medium, large, and custom. Custom allows you to enter your own pixel count.
Select which size QR code works best for you and click the Download button to save. You will now have access to this code from your phone or your computer any time you need it!
That's about all we can do from the Keywords page of Chatavise. There are still other ways you can utilize and attach keywords. We've attached a workflow to a keyword, let's take a look at how we can attach a keyword to a workflow.
Head to the Workflows page from the Automations dropdown menu.
Find the workflow you'd like to attach a keyword to and click on the pencil edit icon.
Click on the magic wand/Triggers icon.
Select the plus + icon beside Keyword Triggers.
From here you'll be able to select a keyword trigger or even multiple keyword triggers. Click on the plus beside the relevant keyword or keywords and they'll be added to your triggers list.
You can press the X button beside selected keywords to remove them if needed.
You can also use the trash can icon to remove unwanted keyword triggers.
Keyword triggers are tied to workflows. Clients that text a keyword associated with this workflow will now receive the messages lined up in this workflow.
