Welcome, and thank you for choosing to work with Chatavise for all your texting dreams! There are a few things that need to be in order before you can get started with texting. Here's a quick guide on what all you will need to get started!

TLDR; WHAT DO WE NEED TO BEGIN?

What we need from you:

  • Legal business name
  • EIN
  • Business entity type
  • Link to website
  • Authorized representative information
    • Full name
    • Phone number
    • Email address
    • Job position

What your website will need:

  • Contact form including:
    • Consent checkbox
    • Cell phone number field
    • Privacy policy
    • Terms and conditions

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

The first step is to send in the information needed for A2P10DLC registration. This registration is what allows you to exchange messages with customers and clients. The first thing needed is your company's legal business name. This will need to be the exact name found on form CP575 or W-9. If you're unsure of the exact legal business name, it's recommended to double check either of these forms for confirmation.

Next you will need your business EIN (employer identification number). This can be found on the CP575 form as well as a W-9.

The third piece of information you will need is the business entity type. More often than not, the entity type will be LLC, corporation, or S-corp. This entity type can be found on a W-9 form.

The entity type, EIN, and legal business name will all be used to properly identify your business when setting up texting.

We will also need the name, phone number, email address, and job position of the authorized representative of this campaign setup. It is possible that the phone carriers will reach out to this person to confirm any details before approving the campaign.

The last piece of information needed is a link to a legitimate business website.

Once we have this information, we'll be able to register your brand and create a text campaign.

WHAT YOU NEED

To get started opting-in potential new customers and clients to receive text messages, you will need contact forms on your website where people can reach your business. If your business has contact forms, there are four requirements before you can start sending out text messages to those who have opted-in; a checkbox to allow new customers to receive messages, a phone number field, a privacy policy, and terms of service. These requirements are to help you stay compliant when it comes to FCC texting regulations.

It's required to have a consent checkbox under all contact forms. A phone number field will also need to be included. Here's an example of what this consent checkbox and phone number field could look like:

And an example template for this consent message:

I agree to receive messaging from [company name] at the phone number provided above. I understand that I will receive up to [number of messages] per month, data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out

Two disclosures will be needed in order to send text messages to customers and clients: a privacy policy and terms and conditions.

A privacy policy will disclose to the new text recipient what you and Chatavise intend to do with their information once handed over. This helps to ensure that their private information is safe with you and your company. This can be saved on it's own page on the company website and then a link to the page included under the consent checkbox.

Feel free to use this example template for a privacy policy.

You will also need a set of terms and conditions for new customers and clients to read before consenting to messaging. This can also be saved to the company website and a link displayed underneath the consent checkbox.

Here's an example terms and conditions.
