The Contacts page is a newer feature introduced to Chatavise that takes customer contact information found on the Chats page and displays it so that it's easier for you and your team to view and organize. You'll be able to access a list of every customer contacted in your Chatavise account from this page.

Here's a peek at what the new Contacts page looks like. You can access this page from the Contacts dropdown menu:

From the main Contacts page you'll be able to see all of a customer's basic contact info at a quick glance. Information displayed includes the customer's full name, the location they're serviced by, primary phone number, email address, and the last recorded time of activity in Chatavise.

You can filter out contacts three different ways; by location, by tag, or by channel. We will go over what a tag is later in this article as well as how to assign a customer to a tag. Here's a link to our Ultimate Guide to Channels, if you're unsure of what they are and how to use them.

To select a filter to use, click the dropdown menu of the filter most relevant to you, click on the desired filter, and it will automatically be applied. To remove any unwanted filters, re-click the dropdown menu of the filters you selected, hit the "All (filter)" button, and you'll be all set.

You also have the ability to search for a customer either by name or phone number. The search bar is located at the top left of the screen, above the contacts list.

If you'd like to add a new contact to your contact list, click the Add contacts button available at the top right of the Contacts page.

From here you have two options for uploading a new customer; either through a CSV file or individually by manually inputting customer information.

If you'd like to upload a CSV file to add multiple customer contacts at once, just follow the steps shown below in the Add Customers popup window.

If you'd like to add a customer manually, click on the One Customer tab in the Add Customers window.

Here you can add all of your new customer's information that you have ready to go. The only information you must include in this is the customer's phone number so that you can text them. Once you've input all relevant customer information, hit the save button and they will be added to the Contacts page (you may need to refresh the page for this newly added customer to show up).

To refresh the page to update with any new customer information, hit the Reload button at the top right of the main Contacts page.

If you'd like to export any of your customers and/or their orders to a spreadsheet, click on the Export Orders button at the top right of the main Contacts page.

All you need to do is select a date range for this export and hit the Export button.

Hitting the export button will immediately download the customer information as a spreadsheet to your computer!

If you'd like to access a customer's chat history, just find the customer relevant to you and click on their blue full name; this will take you to a new page and straight to that customer's chats.

Lastly, if you have the ability to assign tags to customers from the Contacts page. While customers may only be organized into one channel at a time, you're able to assign multiple tags to one customer to better organize your Contact book. To assign a tag to a contact, click on the checkbox to the left of their name on the Contact page.

You can check multiple customers at a time to assign a tag to them all at once. Select as many customers as you'd like to assign your first tag.

If you'd like to select all of your contacts, click on the header checkbox at the top of the list. You can also deselect all of your contacts by checking this box.

Once you've selected all of the relevant contacts, it's time to assign a tag. Click on the Assign tags button found at the top left of the page.

From here you can assign the selected contacts with a tag previously used or with a new tag. Since this is our first tag, we'll need to type one in. Click on the Create Tag button just below the tag selection dropdown.

Type up the name of the tag and hit Save.

Once you've typed up your new tag, it will populate the Tag dropdown menu. Click on the Tag dropdown menu and selected your newly added tag. Once the tag has been selected, click on the dropdown menu once more and hit the Save button again. Your tag has now been assigned to your contacts.

You can now filter out your contacts with this tag to only see contacts with this applied tag.
