The Job Created workflow template in Chatavise sends a welcome message to customers when a new job is created in Jobber. This workflow is designed to introduce customers to your company's experience — not to handle appointment reminders, which are managed by visit-related workflows.

This guide walks you through how to install the Job Created workflow, customize the welcome message, set an optional delay, and turn it on when you're ready.

What the Job Created Workflow Does

In Jobber, a job represents the overall work you're performing for a customer, with one or more visits scheduled underneath it. The Job Created workflow focuses on the initial customer touchpoint — welcoming them into your service experience.

By default, this workflow:

  • Listens for the Job Created event from Jobber
  • Sends a single welcome text message to the customer
  • Notifies customers to expect reminder messages for future visits

This workflow is intentionally simple. Appointment reminders and scheduling notifications are handled separately by visit-related workflows such as Visit Created and Visit Updated.

How to Install the Workflow

  1. Navigate to your Jobber integration page in Chatavise.
  2. Locate the Job Created workflow template.
  3. Click Install.

The workflow is now installed but not yet active. This gives you a chance to review and customize it before turning it on.

Reviewing the Workflow Design

  1. Click on the newly installed workflow to open it.
  2. Select the Design tab to view the workflow structure.

You'll see the Job Created event as the trigger, followed by a single text message action. If you want to learn more about how workflows function, click the Learn How To button inside the workflow editor.

Customizing the Welcome Message

To edit the welcome message:

  1. Click the Edit button on the text message action.
  2. Modify the message text as needed.

The default message includes several message variables that pull data directly from Jobber:

  • Customer's name — personalizes the greeting
  • Business name — identifies your company

These variables are especially important for the Job Created workflow since this may be the customer's first text message from your business. Personalization helps establish trust and recognition.

Setting a Delay (Optional)

If you'd prefer to send the welcome message after a short delay rather than immediately:

  1. Click Edit on the text message action.
  2. Toggle the Delay option on.
  3. Set your preferred timing — for example, one hour or one day later.
  4. Click Save.

By default, the message sends immediately when a job is created.

Activating the Workflow

Once you're satisfied with the message content and timing:

  1. Toggle the workflow On using the switch at the top of the workflow editor.
  2. The workflow is now live and will trigger automatically whenever a new job is created in Jobber.
